AIPAC Policy Conference
Just two days ago, I returned from the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC)’s annual Policy Conference. I joined over 14,000 pro-Israel activists – including 2300 students – where we discussed and learned about the dangers of a nuclear Iran, the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, and the BDS (boycott, divestment, sanctions) movement. I heard from amazing speakers, including Israeli Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu, Secretary of State John Kerry, and a Christian -Israeli doctor at a trauma hopsital in Israel. The theme of the conference was “I am Pro-Israel. I am AIPAC.” It highlighted the diversity of pro-Israel advocates and taught us to communicate our beliefs and knowledge more effectively. It was an inspiring and empowering experience. Go to the AIPAC website to hear some of the exceptional speeches.
Israel intercepts Iranian ship carrying rockets, bound for Gaza
If you care about Israel, chances are Iran has been on your mind. Iran has vowed to wipe Israel off the map, calling it the “little Satan” (America is the “big Satan”). Its illicit nuclear program is the subject of much debate, as America and Israel seek to find a way to prevent Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon. On Wednesday, in “Operation Discovery”, the Israeli navy intercepted an Iranian ship that was carrying long-range rockets to Sudan. After entering Sudan, they were supposed to be transported to Gaza, where Hamas terrorists could have taken them and used them against Israelis. The crew of the ship is in custody in Israel. America and Israel collaborated in this mission; the two allies shared intelligence.
