My name is Eric Nayman and I’m from the amazing chapter of Margate in South Florida. This past summer I chose to go on USY on Wheels Pacific Northwest, it was probably one of the best decisions I’ve ever made! Pacific Northwest is a unique, 3 week trip that goes around the state of Washington, Oregon, along with visiting the province of British Columbia in Canada for two weeks on a bus.For the third week of the trip the group boarded an absolutely fantastic 1 week Norwegian Cruise that set sail to Alaska. One of the greatest aspects of this specific USY on Wheels trip is that it’s a smaller, close-knit group of 24 fergalicious USYers from around North America. Having a smaller group has the advantage of becoming closer with everyone in the group, and by week 2 it’s truly like a dysfunctional family. My absolute favorite moment on the trip was getting to ice skate at the 2010 WInter Olympics Arena in Vancouver, Canada. Not only was it super awesome and exciting to be able to tour and use the facilities at an Olympic arena, but I also got to do it with some of my closest friends. The picture below is from helping a friend, who has a fear of heights, cross a suspension bridge just outside of Vancouver. That was probably the second best day on the trip. I encourage everyone who has the ability to go on this trip to GO! Not only is it the best USY on Wheels choice, but it is the supreme choice of a summer program. This year the trip has been extended to four weeks, which includes visiting California, and should be even more memorable than in previous years.Capture the excitement of Seattle, the uniqueness of Portland, and the beauty of Vancouver, British Columbia. Explore some of North America’s most spectacular wonders of nature from Mount Rainier in Washington State to Crater Lake in Oregon to the glaciers of Alaska. Enjoy a week-long Alaskan cruise and then travel down to Los Angeles.
