This Week in Israel!
Hi HaNegev!
Daniela Rojzman here! Hope you’re all doing well and I can’t wait to see you all at Yom Disney!!!
Oh and by the way, don’t forget to wish Stephanie a happy birthday on the 10th, but shhhhh don’t tell her I told you!
Anyways, here’s what’s happening in Israel….
Israeli Army Field Hospital Serving Syria
As you most likely already know, Syria is in an ongoing civil war. Although an enemy nation, Israel and the IDF have treated wounded Syrian civilians in hospitals all over northern Israel. On many occasions, Syrian civilians are wounded so badly that they cannot reach the hospitals in time. For this reason, Israel has set up a field hospital on the northern border in the Golan Heights where Syrians are treated and then transferred to other Israeli hospitals to be treated. No Syrian is denied treatment. It is very unusual for a country to treat its enemies the way Israel does. The medical officer in charge of the facility says it fills him with pride to be able to do what he does, and we should be proud of our Jewish state and all it accomplishes.

The sip heard ’round the world: Scarlett Johansson, Super Bowl and SodaStream
Scarlett Johansson has become the poster girl for SodaStream, an Israeli maker of home-carbonation machines with a factory in a West Bank settlement. She officially resigned as the Oxfam Global Ambassador. This of course, plays against the BDS movement, which supports constant boycott, divestment and sanctions against Israel. She, however, came out and said she does not really care what the BDS says and that she does not agree with their goals.
OHHH AND BTW…if you watched the Super Bowl you probably saw her SodaStream commercial.
