2 Israeli-Americans awarded Nobel Prize in Chemistry
Now a while back in Israel, an orthodox man told me to marry a Jew because Jews are 3x more likely to win a Nobel Peace Prize. Now I’m not sure if thats true, but Arieh Warshel and Michael Levitt were recently awarded the prize. Their efforts contributed to the laying of the foundation for computer models used to understand and predict chemical processes. The Swedish Academy also noted that they have helped scientists develop programs that unveil chemical processes such as the purification of exhaust fumes or the photosynthesis in green leaves. Lots to take in, but whats really cool is that there are now 13 Nobel winners from Israel. Not too shabby.
Gal Gadot cast as Wonder Woman
Woah! You’re telling me that an Israeli actress will be playing Americas Superhero Sweetheart? YUP! She’ll be appearing in the movie “Batman vs. Superman”, the sequel to “Man of Steel”. Director Zach Snyder said “Wonder Woman is arguably one of the most powerful female characters of all time and a fan favorite in the DC Universe. Not only is Gal an amazing actress, but she also has that magical quality that makes her perfect for the role. We look forward to audiences discovering Gal in the first feature film incarnation of this beloved character.” Well Gal, I’ll see you in 2015.
