*Israeli ministers approve release of 26 Palestinian prisoners for peace talks*
This week, Netanyahu and his government released another 26 prisoners into the Gaza Strip and the West Bank as promises to the Palestinian authority. All of the prisoners released were involved in terrorist attacks that involved Israeli deaths. This decision was made after a bill was rejected by the Habayit Hayehudi party. Members of this right wing party sought to ban the release of imprisoned terrorists as a part of peace negotiations. This release is causing major tensions in the Israeli governments while Netanyahu still attempts to reach the two-state solution.
*Ultra-Orthodox singers defy stereotypes on TV Reality Show*
A common stereotype for most Israelis is that the Ultra-Orthodox live a rather secluded life, away from secular life. Arie and Gil Gat have recently broken that barrier by performing on Israels “Rising Star” while performing “The Sound of Silence” and “Hotel California”. They’ve swept the votes of all four judges and ranked in more than 80% of fan votes. “Music brings down all barriers between secular people, religious people. There is this kind of love.”
